How to Pair a Bluetooth Headset to Your React Mobile Nexus

This article explains how to pair a Bluetooth headset to a React Mobile Nexus via the Portal. Users log in, access Settings, add device types under Bluetooth Pairing, and put the headset in pairing mode near the device. After initiating a manual health check, the React Mobile Nexus scans and displays discovered headsets. Selecting the headset and adding it pairs the device, confirmed by a green blinking LED. Paired headsets can be used on any React Mobile Nexus in the organization without re-pairing.

In this article, you will learn how to pair a Bluetooth headset to your React Mobile Nexus.

 

  1. Log in to the Portal and select the "Settings" option on the top right corner of the screen.

     

  2. Scroll down to the Bluetooth Pairing setting and click the Add Device Types button, which will open a 'Discovered Device Types' window in the portal.

  3. Put your Bluetooth headset into pairing mode, and have it very close to the React Mobile Nexus (1-2ft away at most).

  4. Initiate the Bluetooth scanner on the React Mobile Nexus by triggering a manual health check. For more information on how to initiate a health check, please reference the article Performing a Health Check on the React Mobile Nexus. After showing the battery level and signal strength on the LED, the React Mobile Nexus will see that the Add Device Types button has been selected in the Portal and will begin scanning. At this point, the LED on the React Mobile Nexus will rapidly blink blue.

  5. When the React Mobile Nexus has detected the Bluetooth headset with the scanner, the name of the headset will appear in the 'Discovered Device Types' list on the Portal.

    • If no headsets are found, the scanning process on the React Mobile Nexus will continue indefinitely until the Add Device Types dialog in the portal has been canceled.

  6. Click the checkbox in the Portal to select the headset, and click Add Selections.

  7. This will instruct the React Mobile Nexus to pair and connect with the Bluetooth headset.

  8. If the pairing succeeds, the LED on the React Mobile Nexus will rapidly blink green (or yellow if it fails) for five seconds.

  9. After the pairing is successful, the headset should now be usable by this React Mobile Nexus.

Important: Once this process is complete, the Bluetooth headset, and any others with the same name, will be usable with any React Mobile Nexus in the organization without needing to use the Portal to pair them. Simply repeat steps 3 - 9 with a headset that is not currently connected to another React Mobile Nexus.
