How to Use Voice Translation With a React Mobile Nexus Device

In this article, you will learn how to use translation with your React Mobile Nexus Device.

To use translation on a React Mobile Nexus Device, the device must first be added to a language group in a Channel. For instructions on how to assign a language to a React Mobile Nexus Device please reference the article: How Can I Assign a Language to a React Mobile Nexus Device.

To send a voice message from the React Mobile Nexus Device, simply press and hold the React Mobile logo button. Once you hear the Talk Permit Tone (TPT), the line is open and you are free to speak into the button in your native language. The communications will be processed and translated into the listener's chosen language for your channel. Release the React Mobile logo button once you are finished. You will hear the outgoing voice stop tone confirming the line is no longer open.

In the following example, you have three React Mobile Nexus Devices that are in the Housekeeping channel: 3 devices in English, 2 in Spanish, 2 in French, and 2 in Turkish. Note: Devices that are fully charged will display their assigned language LED color while connected to a charger.

When a person speaks in either the Spanish, French, or Turkish channel in their chosen language, people in the English channel will hear the communication translated to English. When people in the same language group speak to each other (e.g., two employees in the Turkish channel), there is no translation - they will simply hear the other person in the language they speak into their button, whether it is English or Turkish.

Inversely, when a person in the English channel speaks into their button in English, the other 3 language channels will hear the speech translated to the language assigned to their group.
