The React Device alert process is initiated by pressing the main button 5 times rapidly, causing it to flash red and switch to an alert channel as a "Hot Mic," allowing hands-free voice communication. When responders join, the device flashes blue, and they can listen, communicate, and manage the alert. Once resolved, the device flashes green briefly, then returns to normal radio use.

In this article, you will learn how the alert process works with your React Device.

  1. To initiate an alert in case of emergency, press the main button 5 times in rapid succession.
  2. This will put the device in alert state, and it will start flashing RED.
    1. Once the alert is initiated, the device will disconnect from the regular channel, create an alert channel, and join this alert channel.
  3. Once the device is in the alert channel, it will become a "Hot Mic".
    1. When the device is Hot Mic, you do not have to press and hold the button to send voice communications.
  4. The React Device will flash BLUE when the responders join the alert.
  5. During an active alert, Responders will be able to hear everything from the React Device.
  6. At this time, Responders can evaluate the situation and interrupt the Hot Mic to communicate with the Alert Source device.
  7. After the Responders stop talking, the React Device will go back to being a Hot Mic, allowing the Responders be able to receive communications.
  8. Continue to work with Responders and inform them about the situation.
  9. Once the Responders confirm the user is safe, they can resolve the alert via Portal or the Mobile Application.
  10. Once the alert is resolved, the flashing RED LED will stop and go back to GREEN for 5 seconds. At this time, the device will disconnect from the alert channel and join to it's home channel and can be used as a radio again.
