This article explains how to change channels on the React Mobile Nexus Device. Each device has a Home Channel and an "Everyone" channel by default. Press the Function Button to cycle through channels, with the Text-to-Speech announcing each. Sending a message to a non-home channel is "Calling a Channel," allowing communication on both that and the Home Channel. After 60 seconds of inactivity, the device returns automatically to its Home Channel.

In this article, you will learn how to change channels on the React Mobile Nexus Device.

Understanding Channel Changing

Each device is assigned a Home Channel via the Portal. This is where the device normally sends and receives voice messages. All properties include an "Everyone" channel by default.

How to Change Channels:

  1. Press the Function Button (side button) once to browse through available channels.

  2. The device's Text-to-Speech (TTS) will announce the name of the channel you are currently in with each press.

    • Example: If a property has Everyone, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, and In-Room Dining channels — each press of the Function Button announces the channel name as you cycle through the options.

Calling a Channel:

When a device sends a voice message to a non-home channel, this is called "Calling a Channel". While calling a channel, the React Mobile Nexus Device can send and receive voice messages on that channel, while at the same time still receive communications from its Home Channel.

Automatic Return to Home Channel:

After 60 seconds of inactivity on a non-home (called) channel, the device will automatically return to its Home Channel.
