This article explains how to change channels on the React Device. Press the Function Button to cycle through channels, with the device announcing each channel via Text-to-Speech. Devices have a Home Channel for normal communication and an "EVERYONE" channel by default. Calling a non-home channel allows sending and receiving messages there while still receiving from the Home Channel. After 60 seconds of inactivity on a non-home channel, the device automatically returns to its Home Channel.
In this article, you will learn how to change channels on the React Device.
Understanding Channel Changing:
Each device is assigned a Home Channel via the Portal. This is where the device normally sends and receives voice messages. All properties include an "EVERYONE" channel by default.
How to Change Channels:
Press the Function Button (side button) once to browse through available channels.
The device's Text-to-Speech (TTS) will announce the name of the channel you are currently in with each press.
Example: If a property has Everyone, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, and In-Room Dining — each press of the Function Button announces the current channel by name.
Calling a Channel:
When a device sends a voice message to a non-home channel, this is called "Calling a Channel." While calling a channel, the device can send and receive voice messages on that channel and will still receive communications from its Home Channel.
Automatic Return to Home Channel:
After 60 seconds of inactivity on a non-home (called) channel, the device will automatically return to its Home Channel.
