In this article, you will learn what the different LED colors on the LoRa panic button indicate during an alert event.
Requesting assistance (flashing white indicator)
To trigger an alert with a React Mobile LoRa panic button you can either press and hold the red button on the side of the device for at least 5 seconds or else you can press the red button at least 5 times in rapid succession. After triggering an alert, the button may require time to connect to a communication network. The on-screen indicator will blink a solid white line while this happens. This should not take more than a few seconds. The button will vibrate to confirm successful activation.
Request received (flashing red indicator and vibration confirmation)
If you are near a Portal user or a Responder device, a few seconds after you press the button, you will hear and see the notification. The on-screen indicator for the button will flash a red line along the bottom of the screen indicating that the alert is active. Your device begins to track your position using nearby Bluetooth Low Energy beacons. Tracking continues until the button receives notification that the alert has been resolved.
Help is on the way and has arrived (flashing red and blue indicator)
When a Responder agrees to help, the button indicator line on the bottom of the screen changes from flashing red to flashing red and blue. When the Responder arrives, we measure and record the response time. In the Portal dashboard, there is a response time indicator that can be used to build standard operating procedures. Knowing the average response time means once the screen says help is on the way, you know about how long you will need to wait. With daily testing, your team will become familiar with the length of time it takes someone to cross the property to arrive at your location.
Alert is resolved (green indicator)
After help arrives and the situation is handled, the responder or security dispatcher can use either the Portal or the Responder app to take notes about the situation and then to close the alert. The history of the alert from button press to motion tracking for both the button and the responder, including all notes, to the final categorization of the situation are stored with our service for later analysis. The button indicator line at the bottom of the screen shows green before returning to the idle state.
