In this article, you will learn how to rename a cellular (LTE) panic button.
All users signed in to the Customer Portal can access the devices tab; however, only Admins will be able to make edits to the device details. To change user permissions, refer to the How to Add, Edit and Remove Users article for assistance.
Cellular buttons have a unique device identifier (IMEI), which is a long string of 15 numbers located on the back of the device. The devices have been given "friendly names," such as Cellular001, Cellular002, which will display in an active alert. We suggest labeling the devices to match their friendly name, so they can easily be signed in and out.
How to Rename a Cellular Panic Button
- First, you will want to identify the device that you want to name change. To do so, locate the device IMEI, the 15 digit number on the back of the device.
- From the Customer Portal (https://portal.reactmobile.com), navigate to the "Devices" tab on the left hand side of the screen.
- In the search bar on the Customer Portal, type in the last 6 numbers of the IMEI. This should narrow down your list of devices to one.
- To confirm you are selecting the correct device, click on the device line item. The device details window will open and you can confirm the IMEI number in the list of details. This number should match the number on the back of the device.
- Now that you have identified the button, you can label it to match the friendly name displayed in the Portal.
- If you wish to change the device name (which is displayed when an alert has been triggered), click on "Edit Device Name" from the device details screen. Make any changes, then click on "Confirm."
