How to Replace the Batteries in a Carfit Beacon

In this article, you will learn what is needed and how to change a battery in an Carfit beacon.

Carfit beacons require (3) CR2032 batteries and you may need double-sided high bondage tape, we recommend 3M branded adhesive tape. 

1. Physically locate the beacon within the property, you can confirm the location of all beacons onsite via the Customer Portal under the "BEACON" tab.
2. Remove the cover of the beacon by lifting it at the edge along the tab.
   • You may need to remove the entire beacon from the location to remove the cover and you may find a putty knife to be helpful in this process.
   • The cover should lift off easily. However you will want to be mindful of the old batteries falling out once the cover is removed.
3. Carefully remove the old batteries from the beacon, discard and replace them with (3) new CR2032 batteries.
4. Replace the cover.
5. If needed and the beacon was removed entirely, use new double-sided adhesive tape to return the beacon to its original location.
6. Verify the beacon is broadcasting via the React Mobile Hospitality application.
