In this article, you will learn how the LoRa panic buttons fall detection feature works.
Important to note: Fall detection is supported on LoRa buttons with firmware version 1.0.5 or higher. By default, fall detection is disabled for firmware versions 1.0.7 or higher.
When enabled, if an associate is carrying a LoRa panic button and experiences a fall (defined as 1 second of continuous 0.5G or greater acceleration), the panic button waits 5 seconds to determine if there is any movement. If no movement is detected after 5 seconds, the LoRa panic button will start a 30-second timer to ensure the associate is okay and engage the fall detection feature.
The 30-second timer screen is shown as below:
- a) If there is no response from the associate, the device will trigger an alert. In circumstance A, the devices screen will indicate the alert has been triggered by beginning to flash red as shown below:
- b) If the Black Button (or Screen Button) is tapped 3 times within 30 seconds, the alert will be canceled. In circumstance B, the devices screen will indicate the alert has been cancelled by refreshing to the home screen:
